Apple plans to release a new “HomePad” before the year ends

according to the latest news from Bloomberg Apple is planning to release a completely new product before the end of this year which they call "HomePad" or "Family Tablet" in Chinese.

This product combines the features of an iPad and a HomePod. It's kind of like a smart speaker with a screen just like the ones from Xiaomi in China. Here’s what it might look like based on the design sketches.

这个产品本来计划今年三月份就发布的，结果苹果把它推迟了，说是要等 Siri 的人工智能技术成熟以后再一起推出。

这个 HomePad 配了一块大概 7 英寸的屏幕，支持苹果的智能功能。它的主要作用是当个家庭智能设备的大脑，比如控制家里的其他智能设备，还能用来打电话或者问 Siri 问题。

虽然看着像个小 iPad，但实际上它不能跑 iPad 的那些应用。苹果专门给它做了个 HomeOS 系统，只能用苹果预设的一些功能，可不是用来代替 iPad 的哦。

HomePod屏幕版是个“居家助手”

有内部消息说，这个产品已经在一些员工家里试用过了。虽然是个工程机，但基本上就是固定在一个地方的 iPad 屏幕加上一个大音箱。

要是你家里没多少苹果的智能家居设备，那这个 HomePad 可能不太适合你。因为它不能随便搬来搬去，也没什么游戏或者娱乐功能，顶多就是看看视频啥的。
